Welcome to the Directed-Self Placement Survey for Writing Classes! This survey is for all students new to UNC (both new and transfer) who have not brought in credit for ENG 122 (the introductory writing course requirement). The survey assess your attitudes toward writing, your grammar proficiency, and your reading comprehension skills. Your responses to this survey will result in a recommendation about whether you should take ENG 122 or ENG 122 with ENG 132 (a co-requisite support course). 

There is no time limit. Please make sure you answers each question carefully and independently (asking for other's help will only skew your results and prevent a proper recommendation for you).
