A DREAMer is a person who identifies with ANY of the following:

• Is fully undocumented (has no immigration status in the U.S.)
• Has DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals)
• Has Temporary Protected Status (TPS)
• Is utilizing ASSET (Advancing Students for a Stronger Economy Tomorrow) to be coded as in-state resident for tuition purposes.

The DREAMer Engagement Program is a program that has been coordinated specifically for DREAMers during their first year at UNC. In this program, you will have the opportunity to meet other DREAMers. You will have mandatory meetings throughout the semester (3-4). You will be assigned a mentor (a UNC DEP student from a previous cohort). This mentor, along with your DEP advisors will help you learn about campus events, receive support and resources, meet supportive faculty and staff, and help you build a positive and supportive network of people to make your journey at UNC a fulfilling and positive experience!
