The purpose of Chapter Excellence is to recognize chapters in Fraternity and Sorority Life that exemplify the core values of Fraternity and Sorority Life throughout the year. The values of academics, external relations, chapter management, philanthropy, community service, brotherhood and sisterhood, and risk management/education are essential to the mission and goals of Fraternity and Sorority Life at the University of Northern Colorado. Recognition will be awarded to all chapters that earn the necessary points for gold, silver, and bronze status.
• Gold status is awarded to any chapter with over 300 points.
• Silver status is awarded to any chapter with 200 to 299 points.
• Bronze status is awarded to any chapter with 100 to 199 points.
no point/status will be awarded under 100 points or for late submissions
In addition, chapters will be awarded for outstanding achievement within each of the seven (7) categories. For example, chapters can be awarded for Outstanding Scholarship without achieving gold status overall.
Every FSL chapter is
required
to apply for Chapter Excellence with as much of the information necessary to answer the prompts.
While certain elements need to be presented clearly and professionally, application packets can show each chapter's personality and uniqueness. Please consider including supplemental materials for evidence, such as pictures and other materials from the past year (January 2022 – December 2022). Creativity and professionalism are encouraged.
All applications must be turned in via qualtrics (no binders). To keep the information in an organized and clear format, please type your responses below each question. Additional information should be put in an appendix (i.e., scholarship plan, risk management plan, etc.).
Chapter of the Year awards WILL NOT be given out. Chapters will be rewarded only for individual categories and their gold, silver, bronze status.

Helpful Hints
Most prompts have a page or word limit. If a prompt does not have a page or word limit, please supply as much information as needed to answer the question entirely.
On the questions with "items to consider," it does not mean you need to answer all of the questions. The questions listed are to help you answer the prompt and know what we are looking for in a response.
To receive full points, the entire prompt must be answered.
If you have questions, please don’t hesitate to ask!
