Housing & Residential Education will not complete any room moves after November 26th. 

Please read the following information regarding the room move process. Upon completion of this form, the Residential Coordinators (RC) and/or Assistant Residential Coordinators (ARCs) of the Community/Building you indicate will be contacted via email with your room move interest. You will be contacted in a timely manner to begin conversations about your potential room move. Please note that completing this form does NOT guarantee you will be able to move into your desired facility, as it depends on available space in the facility and what students are already on a waitlist.

If you have any questions about this form of the process, please contact your current  Residential Coordinator or Assistant Residential Coordinator. 
Steps to the Room Move Process
  1. Complete this Room Move Request Form
    1. Please note: There may be an additional cost to live in the facility you are moving to according to our tiered pricing structure. University of Northern Colorado Housing Rates
    2. This will send the details of your room move interest to the RC and ARC (hereafter Community Leadership) for the building/community(s) in which you are interested.
  2. You will be contacted by the Community Leadership about your move if there is a space available. You may receive multiple communications from different Communities.
    1. You will only be offered one space from a given Community Leadership team and will have 3 days (72 hours) to accept or decline the offer. 
  3. If you have accepted your placement.
    1. The Community Leadership will send you a Room Move Approval Email with instructions on how to:
      1. Check-in to your new space
      2. How to retrieve a lock-out card and/or key from the front desk of your current neighborhood. (To continue your access to your old room as you move your belongings to your new room.) 
      3. Check out of your old space.
  4. Check-in at the front desk of your new Community between 5 pm and 8 pm.
    1. You will be walked through the room inventory form for your new room. 
  5. Move your belongings
    1. Only do this after being approved to move from your new Community Leadership.
    2. You will be given a deadline in which you need to move all your belongings and check out of your old room, note you may be charged a daily rate for occupying two spaces beyond this deadline.
  6. Check-Out properly from your current hall, within the given timeframe:
    1. Clean your room
    2. Remove all items
    3. Check-out with hall staff between 5 pm and 8 pm, Note: failure to comply with this step will result in a $35 improper move fee.
    4. Shut and lock the door
    5. Return any hard keys or lock-out keys you may have to the Community Front desk for the former space. 
      1. Failure to return keys may result in a minimum $60 fee
      2. Failure to return cards may result in a minimum $10 fee. 
  7. Complete a new Roommate Agreement Process with any new roommates you have. 

You must complete these steps by the date specified by your Community Leadership. If you have not completed your move by the date specified, you will be charged for occupying two spaces until you check out.

Dining: I understand that moving into a different space may impact my meal plan eligibility/requritments. I understand that I have 5 business days to make any meal plan adjustments – and that I need to contact Dining Services to start that process (diningservices@unco.edu, 970-351-2652).
